
Meredith A. McKean, MD
Hematologist/Oncologist

Dr. Mckean is a board-certified medical oncologist and the director of Melanoma and Skin Cancer Research for Sarah Cannon Research Institute at Tennessee Oncology. She specializes in skin cancer treatment and research in addition to phase I drug development.
In her role at Sarah Cannon, Dr. McKean oversees investigational therapy trials for melanoma and other skin cancers. In 2017, she earned an ASCO Conquer Cancer Foundation Young Investigator Award, and in 2018, she received the MD Anderson Cancer Center Waun Ki Hong Clinical Investigator Award.
Dr. McKean earned her medical degree and master in public health from the University of Iowa. She then completed an internal medicine residency at the University of Colorado, followed by a hematology/oncology fellowship at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, where she served as a chief fellow.
When she is not treating patients and conducting research, Dr. McKean enjoys running in local parks and doing anything outdoors with family and friends.Dr.
